Special Features and Benefits
BYK-018 is particularly suitable for pigmented high gloss emulsion systems based on stirene acrylate, acrylate or acrylate/polyurethane combinations with a low pigment volume concentration and is very effective against microfoam.
Recommended Levels
0.05-0.8% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation. The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
Due to its high incompatibility, the defoamer must be incorporated at high shear forces to ensure a good distribution. Otherwise defects may occur in the system.
