Special Features and Benefits
BYK-077 is a silicone-based leveling additive which also prevents the formation of foam and bubbles in the production and processing of solvent-borne coatings in the non-polar to highly polar domain. When re-coating, it does not cause rewetting difficulties or defects in the intercoat adhesion.
Recommended Levels
0.05-0.6% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
The additive can be incorporated during any stage of the production process.
Special Note
Overdosage can lead to turbidity in glossy, clear coatings and haze in pigmented systems.
