Special Features and Benefits
BYK-085 is a silicone-based leveling additive which also prevents the formation of foam and bubbles in the production and processing of solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings in the non-polar to highly polar domain. When re-coating, it does not cause rewetting difficulties or defects in the intercoat adhesion. Due to it being solvent-free in the form supplied, it is especially useful in systems in which a solvent-free additive is necessary, or where intermediate products require specific solvents.
Recommended Levels
0.01-0.4% additive (as supplied) based upon the total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
The additive can be incorporated during any stage of the production process.Adhesives
