Coatings industry
Special features and benefits
BYK-1810 is a highly effective defoamer for solvent-borne and solvent-free coating systems. Even at low dosing levels, optimal and spontaneous defoaming can be achieved.Recommended levels
0.1–1% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. The optimum dosage should be determined by application-related test series.
Incorporation and processing instructions
To achieve optimal defoaming, the defoamer should be added to the millbase. If it is incorporated later, sufficient shear forces must be applied to ensure a good defoamer distribution and to prevent crater formation.Adhesives and sealants
Special features and benefits
BYK-1810 is a highly effective defoamer for solvent-borne and solvent-free adhesive systems. It is particularly recommended for systems based on polyurethane and epoxy resins, in which it achieves optimal defoaming and good compatibility.
Recommended levels
0.1–1% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. The optimum dosage should be determined by application-related test series.
Incorporation and processing instructions
In order to achieve optimal defoaming, the defoamer should be incorporated into the resin with adequate shear forces before adding other components. You can also add the product to finished systems.Thermosets
Special features and benefits
BYK-1810 is a highly effective air release agent, which reduces the formation of foam during the manufacture and processing of epoxy resin and polyurethane systems to obtain blister-free surfaces.
Recommended use
This additive is especially recommended for casting systems (polymer concrete formulation, electrical castings) based on epoxy resin and polyurethane.
Recommended levels
0.1–0.7% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. The optimum dosage should be determined by application-related test series.
Incorporation and processing instructions
The additive is stirred into the resin before adding other components. You can also add the product to finished systems.
