BYK-350 is a polyacrylate-based surface additive for solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings of medium polarity. It provides excellent leveling improvement, enhances gloss, and offers anti-cratering properties. The additive also features thermal stability and surface tension reduction, making it ideal for solventborne and solventless high solids coatings. It belongs to the polyacrylate chemical family.

The additive is used as an anti-cratering and leveling additive in all solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings. It increases gloss and produces a long wave effect. It reduces the surface tension only to a slight extent, and does not impair the recoatability and the intercoat adhesion. BYK-350 is most effective in the medium polarity range. The additive is thermally stable.
Recommended Levels
0.05-0.5% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation. The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions : The additive can be incorporated during any stage of the production process, including post-addition.
