Special features and benefits
BYK-3955 P is a copolymer with pigment-affinic groups that are especially suited to carbon black pigments. It improves the dispersion of the carbon black pigments and enables higher pigment contents. Leveling (DOI – distinctness of image) is increased and use of this product results in better degassing of the powder coating and a higher electrostatic chargeability.
Recommended levels
0.5-2% additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. The optimum dosage should be determined by application-related test series.
Incorporation and processing instructions
The additive is mixed with resin, hardener, pigments and other raw materials in a high-speed mixer and then extruded. Good dispersion of the additive by the extruder promotes gloss and leveling of the powder coating and prevents the formation of craters, fish eyes and seeds.
Special note
The processing additive should always be used in combination with a standard leveling additive.
