Special Features and Benefits

The additive provides outstanding leveling properties and is suitable for all gloss levels. It has no impact on gloss and haze. It causes a slight reduction in the surface tension of the coating, thereby improving the substrate wetting properties and having a slight anti-cratering effect. BYK-399 is easily recoatable, has no foam stabilizing effect and even has defoaming properties at high doses (0.7%). The additive is silicone-free and fluorine-free.
Recommended Use
The additive is very compatible and is recommended for all solvent-borne 1K and 2K systems as well as for baking systems.
Recommended Levels
0.05-1% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation.
The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
The additive can be incorporated during any stage of the production process, including post-addition.
