Special Features and Benefits
BYK-P 9912 is liquid and was specifically developed for use as a processing additives in a variety of systems. The additive can be used in epoxy, polyurethane or unsaturated polyester/vinyl ester resin formulations. Due to additional internal release properties, it accelerates the production process by significantly reducing the idle-time of the mold. BYK-P 9912 has no negative impact on processing parameters such as viscosity and reactivity. No negative influence on the mechanical properties of the finished component could be observed.Recommended Levels
0.5-3% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation (in 2K systems based on mixture of resin and hardener). The above recommended levels can be used for orientation. Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests.
Incorporation and Processing Instructions
BYK-P 9912 can be added directly to the resin or hardener component. It is recommended to incorporate the additive at an early stage, before other raw materials. It is also possible to dose the additive into the pre-mixed system. A thorough and homogeneous distribution of the additive is necessary to achieve the best possible mold release.
