LOXIOL® 8314 is suitable for many thermoplastics, particularly for polyolefines as an antistatic agent, lubricant and release agent. Compared with nitrogeneous additives, it shows considerable advantages regarding the color and odor.
LOXIOL® 8314 lowers surface resistance of plastics significantly, thus preventing dust figuring on the finished articles. Improvement of the antistatic efficiency can be obtained even by a combination with other antistatic agents.
LOXIOL® 8314 is also used as a lubricant to improve the flowability of the plastic melt and shortening the processing cycles. To optimize the flowability behavior, add fatty acid amides such as LOXIOL® OA SPEZIAL or LOXIOL® E SPEZIAL, as well as metal soaps such as LOXIOL® EP 3500.
Furthermore, LOXIOL® 8314 is used to improve the surface slip characteristics of plastic articles. It is mainly used for polyethylene screw caps of bottles. The use of LOXIOL® 8314 eliminates the tendency of films to stick to hot (approx. 200 °C) roll surfaces. In case of particularly very soft PP adjustments, it is advantageous to add metal soaps
