Uses
  • Designed for use in low VOC flat to semigloss architectural paints for indoor and outdoor applications.
  • P-550 is a premium latex designed to provide superior performance in architectural coatings with good stain removal and superior scrub resistance. Emulsion P-550 has great gloss potential allowing broad formulation latitude from flat to semigloss interior and exterior Architectural Coatings. Paint gloss higher than 80 can be achieved.
  • P-550 has great compatibility with slurries and colorants. The binder is film forming and has very low coalescent demand, which allows formulating paints in compliance with the 50g/L VOC regulations. Yet the polymer film is hard to reduce dirt pick up and has excellent block resistance and water resistance when fully coalesced. The chemistry of P-550provides multisubstrate compatibility (Alkyd, Wood, Aluminum, Masonry, galvanized steel, vinyl)

Storage & Handling

Shelf Life
12 months
Storage Information
  • P-550 containers should be well sealed to prevent evaporation of water and the formation of skin or flakes on the surface. The emulsion should be protected from freezing.
  • Store containers between 5 - 25C for not more than 12 months. Higher temperatures will affect quality and may cause the formation of skins, drop on pH and change of viscosity especially if the containers are not tightly closed or subjected to direct sunlight for long periods.
