Rozone™ 2000 is a biocide from the linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) family, with propylene glycol as its carrier. It contains 4,5-Dichloro-2-N-Octyl-4-Isothiazolin-3-One, 3(2H)-Isothiazolone, 2-octyl-, Benzenesulfonic acid, C10-16-alkyl derivatives, and 1-phenoxypropan-2-ol. This liquid biocide is specifically designed to protect paint films and coatings from mildew.

Antimicrobial Activity
  • ROZONETM 2000 Biocide is an effective microbicide for the use in paints and coatings which are applied on wood or on mineral surfaces.
  • ROZONETM 2000 Biocide shows a very broad and balanced spectrum of activity against mold and algae in the field of application.
  • ROZONETM 2000 Biocide is therefore suitable to be used as the sole protective agent.
  • It can also be combined with other fungicides or algicides (e.g. ROCIMATM 63 Biocide) to improve their spectrum of activity.
  • ROZONETM 2000 Biocide may be added at any phase of production provided thorough mixing is guaranteed.
  • Should the manufacturing process involve heating of the product, it is advisable to add ROZONETM 2000 Biocide after cooling down at the end of the process.
Directions for Use
  • As a general guideline the usage of 0.2% up to 0.55% in relation to the total formula is recommended.
  • The optimum dosage of microbicides depends largely upon the susceptibility of the coating to fungal and algal growth, the exposure to weathering, the thickness of the coating, the amount of dirt to be expected and the potential of the local environment to contaminate the surface.
  • ROZONETM 2000 is a protective agent for coatings.
  • To avoid microbial contamination of the water based products in the container during storage we would advise to use an in-can preservative as well, (e.g. KATHONTM LX 1.5% Biocide, Bioban™ BT 2S Biocide, Bioban™ BTCM Biocide).
  • The great variety of systems and manufacturing conditions make it generally advisable to check compatibility before starting to use any new ingredient.
  • It is recommended that the proposed dosages of ROZONETM 2000 Biocide are checked in laboratory tests and if possible with practical external experiments as well.
  • This applies to both the compatibility in the finished product and to the expected level of protection.

Storage & Handling

Storage Information
  • In general, avoid eye and skin contact, wear safety goggles, gloves and protective clothing. In case of eye or skin contact despite precautionary measures, wash immediately and
  • thoroughly with plenty of warm water and obtain medical attention.
  • The legal requirements prevailing in your country, especially on working hygiene and in the avoidance of accidents, must be observed.
  • ROZONETM 2000 Biocide should be stored in tightly sealed original containers, preferably at room temperature.
  • If stored below 0°C solidification can take place which can be reversed by simple warming up to room temperature.
  • After a homogeneous mixing ROZONETM 2000 Biocide can be used without any loss in effectiveness.
  • Protect from light and heat.
