TexFRon® 9001 is a solid flame retardant made from a proprietary ingredient, listed in the TSCA (USA) inventory and TSCA exempt. This additive flame retardant is designed for textile applications, providing flame retardancy in soak and wash durable FR coating and back-coating formulations.

  • TexFRon® 9001 exhibits the following properties:
    • Effective flame suppression in a variety of fabrics
    • Supplied as a fine powder
    • Low melt active component (above 240°F, 115°C) TexFRon® 9000 series is low-melt, upon heating, flows between the fibers and creates physical “anchors” upon cooling
    • Aliphatic and Aromatic system
    • Opportunity for lower latex levels or zero latex formulations
    • Good transparency
    • Easy incorporation in common binder systems
    • Compatibility with most textile finishing chemicals
    • Good pH stability
    • Ability to achieve soak/laundry durable FR fabrics
    • Drop-in replacement for DBDPO based formulations

Application Method
Product Application
  • TexFRon® 9001 may be applied by a variety of application techniques including spray, pad, print, coat, foam and brush. It is most suitable for polyester, acrylic blends, polypropylene blends cotton/polyester blend fabrics.
