DISPERBYK® 111 is a solvent-free wetting and dispersing additive designed for both solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings and printing inks. It effectively stabilizes inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide, while significantly reducing millbase viscosity. This additive enhances the gloss and provides good steric stabilization, making it ideal for high solids and solventless coatings, as well as printing inks. DISPERBYK® 111 serves as both a dispersant and a wetting agent, improving the efficiency and performance of pigment dispersion.

Recommended Uses
  • The additive is recommended for all solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings and printing inks to stabilize inorganic pigments, specifically titanium dioxide.
  • Its anionic character makes it ideal for acid-catalyzed systems (e.g. coil coatings).
Processing Instructions

For optimum performance, the additive must be incorporated into the millbase before addition of pigments.

Key Features
  • The additive deflocculates pigments by means of steric stabilization.
  • As a result of the small particle sizes of the deflocculated pigments, high levels of gloss can be achieved and the color strength is improved.
  • Transparency and hiding power also increase and viscosity is reduced.
  • In this way, the flow characteristics are also improved and high pigment loading is possible.
  • For inorganic pigmented coatings, which are applied using electrostatic high rotation equirment, haze is significantly reduced.
