DISPERBYK® 184 is a wetting and dispersing additive for aqueous coating systems and aqueous pigment concentrates containing resin. It functions as a wetting agent and dispersant, reducing viscosity and providing good steric stabilization. This additive is ideal for waterborne coatings, ensuring improved dispersion and stability in aqueous formulations.

Features & Benefits

CASE Ingredients Features
Key Features
  • The additive deflocculates pigments by means of steric stabilization.
  • As a result of the small particle sizes of the deflocculated pigments, high levels of gloss can be achieved and the color strength is improved.
  • Transparency and hiding power also increase and viscosity is reduced.
  • In this way, the flow characteristics are also improved and higher pigment loading is possible.

Processing Instructions
  • For optimum performance, the additive must be incorporated into the millbase before additon of pigments.
  • The resin and solvent components of the millbase are pre-mixed and then the additive is slowly incorporated while stirring continuously.
  • Do not add the pigments until the additve has been fully distributed.
