- Processing Instructions
Wetting and dispersing additives should generally be added before the silica. Only in this way can they be fully effective.

Coatings Industry
Special Features and Benefits
- DISPERBYK-2008 was specifically developed as a wetting and dispersing additive for silica-based matting agents which are used in solvent-free UV coatings and high-solid systems.
- It is typically used in wood and furniture coatings and also industrial coatings.
- DISPERBYK-2008 is based on controlled polymerization technology (CPT).
- Due to its basic pigment-affinic groups, it is compatible with most silica-based matting agents and works on matting agents with or without surface treatment.
- Even at a low dosage, the dispersion and stability of the matting agent is considerably improved.
- It considerably reduces the viscosity and has a very good orientation of the matting agent.
DISPERBYK-2008 is highly compatible with many polymers and monomers and enables matt surfaces to be produced even when based on standard silicas.
Recommended Levels
3-15% additive (as supplied) based on the matting agent.Adhesives & Sealants
Special Features and Benefits
- As a wetting and dispersing additive, DISPERBYK-2008 is particularly suitable for silica-filled UV adhesives.
- It is based on controlled polymerization technology (CPT).
- Due to its basic pigment-affinic groups, DISPERBYK-2008 is compatible with most types of silica and works both with hydrophilic and hydrophobic silicas.
- Even at a low dosage, the dispersion and stability of the silica is considerably improved.
- It considerably reduces the viscosity.
Recommended Levels
3-15% additive (as supplied) based on the matting agent.
