Special Features and Benefits

  • DISPERBYK-2008 was specifically developed as a wetting and dispersing additive for silica-based matting agents which are used in solvent-free UV coatings and high-solid systems.
  • It is typically used in wood and furniture coatings and also industrial coatings.
  • DISPERBYK-2008 is based on controlled polymerization technology (CPT).
  • Due to its basic pigment-affinic groups, it is compatible with most silica-based matting agents and works on matting agents with or without surface treatment.
  • Even at a low dosage, the dispersion and stability of the matting agent is considerably improved.
  • It considerably reduces the viscosity and has a very good orientation of the matting agent.

DISPERBYK-2008 is highly compatible with many polymers and monomers and enables matt surfaces to be produced even when based on standard silicas.

Recommended Levels
3-15% additive (as supplied) based on the matting agent.

Adhesives & Sealants

Special Features and Benefits

  • As a wetting and dispersing additive, DISPERBYK-2008 is particularly suitable for silica-filled UV adhesives.
  • It is based on controlled polymerization technology (CPT).
  • Due to its basic pigment-affinic groups, DISPERBYK-2008 is compatible with most types of silica and works both with hydrophilic and hydrophobic silicas.
  • Even at a low dosage, the dispersion and stability of the silica is considerably improved.
  • It considerably reduces the viscosity.

Recommended Levels
3-15% additive (as supplied) based on the matting agent.
