- The lauroyl lysine is known to provide excellent aesthetics with an exceptionally soft feel compared to many cosmetic powders. The naturally derived amino acid derivative is hydrophobic with good adhesion properties. When the lauroyl lysine is surface treated onto the Dry-Flo® Elite LL powder, the starch takes on the aesthetics of the lauroyl lysine coating. The properties of the Dry-Flo® Elite LL are also preserved; as a substrate, the Dry-Flo® Elite LL contributes such properties as excellent flow, water resistance, a silky feel, and no whitening on the skin. The Dry-Flo® Elite LL, as a result, exhibits increased skin adhesion, increased softness, and improved matte coverage compared to the base starch. The Dry-Flo® Elite LL imparts a prestige feel to formulations that is very soft and extremely smooth.
- The boron nitride, because of its platelet particle shape, provides a high degree of slip and lubricity to cosmetic formulations. Just as with the lauroyl lysine surface treatment, the Dry-Flo® Elite LL is processed to take maximum advantage of the aesthetic contributions of boron nitride while retaining the properties of the Dry-Flo® Elite LL base. The Dry-Flo® Elite LL exhibits a very lubricious feel, better coverage, and improved adhesion compared to the base starch.
- As with classic Dry-Flo starch, the Dry-Flo® Elite LL products form the crucial powder portion of cream-to-powder formulations. Regardless of the formulating approach taken to achieve a liquid powder or cream-to-powder product, the Dry-Flo® Elite LL help make such formulations possible. Depending on the desired properties, it is also possible to use blends of the Dry-Flo® Elite LL products in combination with each other or with classic Dry-Flo starch.
