Elotex® Seal81 is an encapsulated silane in powder form that provides excellent water-repellent properties both on the surface and within cementitious mortars. When the mortar is mixed with water, the active ingredient is released and binds covalently to the inorganic mortar matrix, offering long-term durability and a superior pearl effect. Elotex® Seal81 is highly effective in alkaline conditions (pH > 10), significantly reducing water uptake. It also improves wetting and mixing properties, is easy to dose with low dust formation, and has a long shelf life.

Dosage and Mixing: the recommended dosage of Elotex® SEAL81 is between 0.2 and 1.0% (weight % on dry mortar). Prolonged mixing time during dry mortar production should be avoided.

Safety & Health

Safety Information

Powder processing: Elotex® SEAL81 can be blended in all commercial mixers with other dry additives to produce cement-based finished products in powder form. Significant temperature increases caused by strong shear forces should be avoided. All hydraulically and non-hydraulically curing dry mortars used with Elotex® SEAL81 can be easily mixed with water before application.
