- Application information
- Treatment levels of 1.0 – 2.0% are typical in greases to improve base oil viscosity and rheological properties of grease. Higher treat rates can create polymer greases or gels for chain oil and wire rope.
- Add polymer to grease with cooling oil. Mix batch at 100-120°C (212-248°F) and for 1-2 hours until particles are dissolved. Naphthenic or naphthenic/paraffinic base stocks are preferred. Heavy paraffinic (bright stock) may require temperatures of 120-140°C (248-284°F) to dissolve quickly.
