Preventol® BIT 20 N

Preventol® BIT 20 N is an aqueous / glycol solution of benzisothiazolinone. Preventol® BIT 20 N is water miscible so the product is easily incorporated into most water-based formulations at use concentration. When higher concentration levels of Preventol® BIT 20 N are needed (e.g. concentrated metalworking fluids), it is recommended to check for compatibility in the laboratory. Preventol® BIT 20 N may be used at higher temperatures and is effective over a broad pH range (2-12). It is recommended that Preventol® BIT 20 N is incorporated in the early phase of the manufacturing process for optimum microbial protection. NOTE: Even if subsequent heating of the finished product takes place in the manufacturing process, the active ingredient (BIT) is stable due to its low volatility and temperature stability. To obtain reliable and reproducible results, homogeneous distribution in the materials to be protected must be ensured by taking suitable measures in production (stirring, agitating, etc.). As with any biocide, use of Preventol® BIT 20 N in a given application must be tested (including field testing, etc.) by the user in advance to determine suitability.

For the control of bacteria and fungi in polymer emulsions / latex emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, metalworking fluids, paints and coatings, inks and fountain solutions, water-based adhesives, aqueous pigment or mineral slurries, building and construction materials, pesticide formulations, cleaning products, liquid laundry additives, car care products, oil recovery materials, secondary oil recovery fluids, paper or textile coating compositions, pulp and paper mill systems, leather processing solutions, or to protect fresh animal hides or skins, flexible PVC systems*, and seed coating*.

Product should be stored in the original sealed package. If stored appropriately, Preventol®  BIT 20 N has a shelf life of 2 years.
