Amphomer®

Amphomer® is a hard-holding acrylic polymer widely used in hair styling aids, offering versatile performance. At typical solids levels, it provides a firm hold and excellent style retention, while reduced solids levels deliver a soft, natural hold with good setting properties. Featuring carboxylate and amine functionality, the polymer forms a three-dimensional matrix through ionic associations and hydrogen bonding, ensuring excellent humidity resistance, adhesion, and solubility. Despite its robust performance, it maintains the benefits of a low molecular weight polymer, including fine spray patterns, easy dry combing, and shampoo removability.

Amphomer® LV-71 is a hard-holding, amphoteric acrylic polymer designed for alcoholic and hydroalcoholic hair spray formulations. Its inherently stiff and moisture-resistant composition forms a three-dimensional matrix upon film formation, enhancing stiffness, hold, and moisture resistance. With a molecular weight distribution that enables fine atomization at high solids levels or in low VOC systems, it offers excellent combability, high gloss, and easy removability, even with heavy deposition on damaged hair.

Amphomer® HC is an acrylic resin offering high performance with unique on-hair characteristics. It provides exceptional moisture resistance and strong hold in humid conditions. While forming hard films, it maintains flexibility and adhesion for desirable hair properties. Highly compatible with hydrocarbon propellants, it is ideal for formulations with high propellant levels.
