Formulation Guidelines

Arquad® PC SV-60 surfactant as conditioning agent is:
• Easy to use, non-flammable liquid
• Easily incorporated into either the aqueous or oil phase
• Compatible with most ingredients except strong anionic surfactants. However, it is used in mild or amphoteric shampoo formulations to provide conditioning benefits.
• Stable at a wide pH range which make it suitable for difficult product applications such as hair colorants.

Performance properties
The light color, low odor, and liquid form, as well as the stability of Arquad® PC SV-60 PG surfactant, provide the flexibility to prepare high quality hair care products
The conditioning benefits of Arquad® PC SV-60 PG surfactant are easily demonstrated in the following basic rinse-off conditioner formulation on European, damaged hair swatches. The Dia-stron MTT-160 instrument was utilized to measure the required force to comb through the hair swatches before and after the conditioner treatments, six swatches for each conditioner. The values obtained were then averaged and placed in a statistical analysis template to measure the percent combing force reduction. Values were reported at an 80% confidence level.
