Edenol® DOZ is a liquid plasticizer based on di-(2-ethylhexyl)-azelate (nonanedioic acid, 1,9-bis(2-ethylhexyl) ester). It is compatible with a wide range of polymers and resins, including nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), chlorosulphonated polyethylene rubber (CSM), chloroprene rubber (CR), NBR/PVC blends, hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This yellow plasticizer offers oil resistance, excellent long-term heat aging properties, low volatility, good heat stability, softness, excellent surface properties, low-temperature performance, and water resistance. It is commonly used in coated fabrics and vinyl sheets.

Properties and Applications

Edenol® DOZ is one of the best low-temperature plasticizers commercially available. The outstanding compatibility of Edenol® DOZ enables it to be used as the sole plasticizer for applications demanding best low-temperature performance, while its relatively low volatility enables compounds to maintain their properties over extended periods of time. Edenol® DOZ provides excellent resistance to extraction by water, oil and soapy water. Vinyl film, sheeting and coated fabrics prepared with Edenol® DOZ show excellent surface properties and softness. These vinyls also show excellent long-term aging properties and heat stability. In most applications, DOZ can replace dioctyl sebacate (DOS) 1:1 without loss in performance.

Edenol® DOZ is suitable for PVC, NBR, NBR/PVC, HNBR, CR, CM and CSM.
