Thioplast® G4 is a low-viscosity polysulfide polymer valued for its chemical resistance and low-temperature flexibility, making it ideal for high-performance coatings across industries. It is used to protect metal and concrete surfaces, floors, and pipelines. Formulators can customize properties such as pot life, tensile strength, adhesion, and elongation by incorporating compatible plasticizers, fillers, and additives. Viscosity, branching, and SH content can be adjusted by blending with other Thioplast® grades to achieve tailored performance.

Chemical Name: Propane, 1,2,3-trichloro-, polymer with 1,1′-[methylenebis(oxy)]bis[2-chloroethane] and sodium sulfide (Na2(Sx)), reduced

Chemical Family: Polysulfides

Application Information
  • Thioplast® G4 is used as reactive diluent in Thioplast® G based sealants to formulate low viscos, flexible and highly elastic sealants being used in aerospace and construction applications with best performance in high Nobel Gas retention and low moisture vapor permeability.
  • Additionally, Thioplast® G4 is used as highly reactive partner in Amine cured Epoxies (like Bisphenol (A, F, AF) DGE and Novolac) to adapt and optimize tensile- / impact strength and elasticity (brittleness).
