Preventol® A 12-TK 48 is a chemical mixture used in water treatment and industrial applications as a biocide. The included compounds—3-Iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate, Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether, and Propiconazole—serve various roles in preventing microbial growth, fungus, and other biological contaminants. The use of this biocide is regulated for safety and environmental impact, ensuring that it's compliant with FIFRA for pesticide use and other regulations such as SARA 313 for hazardous chemical management and TSCA for chemical inventory control. It is noted as non-hazardous in terms of California Proposition 65, which typically lists chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm.
